Analytical Essay on Shakespeare
I took my first Shakespeare class because I had to for my major requirements. I took my second one because I loved the first so much. Learning Shakespeare was fascinating to me because I got to see the beginning of so many tropes common to literature today.
In this paper that I wrote for my later Shakespeare class, I explored the villain Iago from Othello. I loved Iago because I saw him as an early example of the subtle and tempting devil allegory that is so readily available in modern fiction.

Critical Review of The Tempest
Oh yes, I have two Shakespeare papers in here. That is how much I enjoyed those classes. Of the sixteen plays I studied over the course of two semesters of Shakespeare, The Tempest was probably my favorite. I loved it primarily because it wasn't an over the top comedy or a death-filled tragedy like a lot of Shakespeare's other plays. It was more nuanced and it felt more real.
Because I liked The Tempest so much, I decided to make it the subject of my final Shakespeare project by reviewing a film version of the play.

Analytical Essay on Ethnic Literature for Children
Folk and fairy tales are fascinating to study. They reveal the ancient stories and tropes that have seeped into the unconscious of societies around the world. I knew as much as the next guy about the fairy tales I grew up with, but almost nothing about those from other cultures. So getting the opportunity to learn about the stories of every major culture on the globe was something I just couldn't pass up.
In Ethnic Literature for Children, we studies folk tales, fairy tales, novels, and picture books from all manner of societies. My final project was to compare two stories that had a lot of similarities, despite originating from different places.
